Posted May 10, 2012

Fancy playing some Minecraft on your Xbox 360? I’ve got a copy to giveaway right here on my blog. I’ve been playing a lot of Minecraft recently and felt the need to share the love.

So, what do you need to do to get hold of the greatest time sink of all time on your Xbox? Simple really, you can either;

  • Comment below with your building idea for Minecraft. It could be an underwater war room, a floating castle or a cute cottage.
  • Or, if you have the PC version, show me your coolest build by linking your picture with a description in the comments.

Please make sure to link me your Twitter in the URL bit and your real e-mail address so I can contact you with the code. I’ll choose a winner tomorrow. Get commenting!

Update: Well done @SquidGaming for winning. Can’t wait to see Earth 2.0.

If I had the time and skills I’d build a complete replica of Hogwarts. The room of requirement would forever be filled with every game and console known to man alongside a fridge that always refilled with Diet Coke, Irn Bru and Vimto.

    TOM NOOKS PALACE.

I’m sick of tired of Tom Nook from Animal Crossing upgrading my house…it’s about time I upgrade his! MINECRAFT 360 STYLE!

Id love the code. Id build a super high tree house with a spiral staircase going up and a diving board into a pool for an escape route. Hope to hear from you soon and thanks for the great giveaway.

I wanna build a floating strip club for midgets. 6 hot tubs surrounding it with a slide into each one

My first plan when I acquire minecraft for the 360 is to build a massive, working mechanical nyan cat using redstone and pistons! Hopefully add a repeating tune using noteblocks as well

I would build a vast network of underground caves, with the eventual goal of digging down as far as possible, and building a fortress there.

Thanks for the opportunity to win Minecraft!

My biggest fear is that when I finally get to play MineCraft, Skyrim will get jealous.

I tell Skyrim I love her every day. I mod, I level, I explore, but sometimes I think about other games.

I know, I know, I’m a horrible gamer. I’ve been told that time apart is what we need.

Eventually we came to a joint decision, that I can play other games, but everytime I do, I have to promise I’m thinking of Skyrim. So whenever I get my mitts on MineCraft, I’ll be building my own Skyrim.

    Starting with Whiterun!

I would love to build Lightning and the castle of Valhalla from Final Fantasy XIII-2. It’s not the most original idea, but it would be an interesting project which would take lots of time to finish.

Second idea is my very own fantasy world with castles, forest, cities, unicorn (the most important), lollipops and something Gaga n FF stuff xD

If given the chance, I would create a museum of videogame history, rebuilding the 8-bit characters and scenes that have stuck with me since the days of my childhood. There could be a wing for well-known videogame heroes, another dedicated to their dastardly villains, and yet another to recognize a number of the obscure but wonderfully imaginative games that deserved, but never quite got, their time in the spotlight.

In a sense, I would like to create a monument to the children who felt compelled to find the princess before they knew how the word “princess” was spelled. I would like to recreate the feelings of wonder and imagination that gaming evoked long before cynicism and adulthood overtook them.

In essence, I would like to recreate my childhood experience as a gamer, and I promise not to let any Creepers fuck with it.

I’d build a huge cyber brothel filled with half animal, half human ladyboy tarts. The mistress of this den of sin would be a huge Mario dressed like Lady GaGa, and a blocky Luigi would be his pimp….Ahh, I can but dream.

I’d love a code, as this game wouldn’t normally wouldn’t be for me. I purposely ignored the PC/Mac version because PC gaming is a hassle with KB+M and stuff, but on a pad it feels right.

If I obtain the skill and some friends who know what they’re doing (more than me, which isn’t hard), I’d love to try and build some Halo maps like Zanzibar (Halo 2) and some other Halo related tributes before Halo 4 arrives.

Of course, this is after I make my obligatory penis tower of course,

I always thought building an Apollo era spaceship as a house would be really cool.

I would love to win a Minecraft code.

As Bioshock is my favourite game I would love to build a replica of Rapture to give me my fix while I wait for Bioshock Infinite.

Definitely need to start with the statue from the opening sequence of the game “No Gods or Kings only Man”, would be such an epic thing to see as you entered my Minecraft Rapture.

Hopefully I could set up a server somehow so people could come in and work on different areas of Rapture for me – the inside areas of course. Working on the areas from each of the games, especially linking it up to an area to represent Minervas Den from the second game.

And then build some Big Daddy statues to scare away the monsters :D

You know, reading these gave me the idea to try making a prohibition-era America type scene. A pet shop with secret passages to a swingin’ Speakeasy and such pleasures of the time. Of course I have no idea if that would even be close to achievable but it’s nice to have a place to start.

If I won I’d most likely devote my time to digging a massive hole in the landscape in order to hone my skills. If that went well, perhaps if I hit the bottom (can you do that?), I’d start work on tunnelling out a cave or spend time jumping down my previous work.

I would also refer to it as “Mindcraft”, as I’m a kooky guy like that. I would use my “mind” to “craft” creative masterpieces.

I’d build myself a nightclub with a flashing dance floor so I can party indoors when the zombies attack.

  18. May 11, 2012 11:22 am

I’d like to build Superman,s Fortress of Solitude. I think it would be difficult to get it right but the results would be well worth it. Inside would be his interplanetary zoo, the zone-ophone for viewing the Phantom Zone, a SUPER laboratory with the bottled city of Kandor, an engineering department where he builds his cyborg Supermen and a trophy room. It would be HUGE. And just as silly as Superman himself :)

I have been in total admiration of Minecraft creations for some time now, but if I were to have the ‘skillz’ to build anything at all, I would most definitely recreate Castle Greyskull and live out my blocky days as a He-Man tribute act, singing songs of the old times in my furry pants.

    Well, why not eh?

I’d build my dream house that, unless lotto thunderball decides to shower me with gold, I will never be able to afford. I’ll then shut myself away from reality, living my life in luxury in my bloody huge pixelated mansion.
Either that or a precise replica of planet earth, I haven’t decided.

I would build the airship that recently featured on the avengers movie. If I ha enough skill and time that is. Including the hulk stuck in the glass container as well as the other characters dotted around!
