Project Zero II gets a Wii Remake
So it’s not on the console most of us wanted but certainly the one we were expecting. Project Zero II is one of my favourite survival horror games of all time and it’s getting released on the Wii with graphical updates, revised costumes, new endings, a third person mode, and more.
While I’m excited to see the game getting a remake, I’m also saddened to see that Nintendo has yet again failed to bring Project Zero 4, officially known as Zero: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, to the west. There’s already a fan translation available for those with a Japanese copy but the problem is getting hold of a copy. I’ve been trying for the last year and a half to get one on several bidding websites but everyone’s got a price limit. I can’t justify £80 on a Wii game right now. Sad face…

The above screen shows the major graphical changes with the new version (above, left) looking much prettier. I’m not sure I like the change in costumes however. Seems like a cheap attempt as showing off more skin, especially Mio, who appears to have also earned a substantial upgrade in the booby department.
Apart from the awful new voice cast, hopefully Project Zero II Wii Edition will remain super scary throughout. It’s heading to Europe on June 29th which is the same day as the 3DS spin off game Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir.

I personally would have preferred a re-release of the first game, as much as I like the second one, the first Project Zero will always be special to me. Vastly prefer the story too.
I managed to get my copy of Mask of the Lunar Eclipse from Play Asia. If I had to buy another copy I would probably try either there or CD Japan. Hope you track down one, it’s a great little game, shame it was never released here
And here I was saying to myself ‘That looks a lot like Fatal Frame’.

The voices don’t sound bad to me.
Will they game at least have the Japanese track? Otherwise I’m downloading an iso with an undub. It’s just too weird for Japanese girls who are native to Japan to be speaking with British accents. As long as they aren’t like Min mei from Macross’s Dub where they was speaking English but did so with a “not native english speaker” accent that was hard to understand most of the time UGGGH.
Other countries censor content and not just rogue regimes such as the Iranian mullocracy. Poor people! http://www.baidu.com
